Johnson, M.D., FACOG |
Temeka L. Johnson, M.D., FACOG, was born in
Cairo, Georgia, and raised in Bainbridge, Georgia. She
attended Bainbridge High School graduating with a 4.0 at
the top of her class in 1990. She was selected for
membership in the National Honor Society, voted Most
Likely to Succeed by her senior class, was elected
Homecoming Queen in 1989 and Prom Queen in 1990 of
Bainbridge High School. Her undergraduate degree is a
Bachelor of Science in Biology from Albany State
University where she was a Magna Cum Laude graduate in
1994. She was also an active member of Delta Sigma Theta
Sorority. She attended Morehouse School of Medicine in
Atlanta, Georgia, and received her medical degree in
1998.
Dr. Johnson received her Resident Education
at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. There
she received many honors: Resident of the Month Award at
Hutzel Hospital, Hutzel Hospital Patient Advocate Award,
and the Student Educator Award. She was the Resident
delegate to the American Society of Reproductive
Medicine Conference and received the FitzRoy Younge
Obstetrics/Gynecology – National Medical Association
Award and Scholarship. Dr. Johnson is Board Certified by
the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Johnson has the ability to easily communicate with
girls and ladies of all ages and walks of life. Her
Christian spirit pervades her medical practice as she
enjoys teaching women and female adolescents about their
reproductive health and preventive medicine. She is a
pro-life supporter with the other physicians at East
Lakeland OB/Gyn Associates and speaks to special church
and school groups promoting abstinence.
As a
Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and
Gynecologists and a member of the American Congress of
Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Johnson maintains
the latest techniques in order to continuously improve
women’s healthcare. Dr. Johnson married in 2003 and has
two children. She resides in Brandon with her husband
and children.
